National Journal is seeking a driven marketing leader to join its small but fast-paced marketing team. He/she will play an integral role in developing and executing strategies for driving the purchase, use, and renewal of National Journal’s paid content services (including memberships, subscriptions, research products, and institutional site licenses). This position reports to the director of marketing.

Responsibilities Include:
-Generate buzz about, and awareness of, National Journal’s suite of paid content services through promotions within National Journal’s digital and print publications, as well as third-party events and promotions.
-Support sales and service teams’ client visits by executing lead-generating digital strategies and email campaigns, and providing a cohesive arsenal of presentations and other collateral.
-Drive utilization and renewal by clearly defining services’ value via printed brochures, event invitations, website updates, regular emails, and the rollout of new features.
-Maintain weekly and monthly reports synthesizing metrics for buzz/awareness, sales/service support, and utilization/renewal; develop new strategies based on the evaluation of these metrics.
-Serve as a positive, proactive leader in the launch of new products and features.
-Develop annual marketing plans and oversee their implementation and evaluation.
-Direct the investment of marketing budgets, including evaluating the ROI of each investment.

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:
-Highly motivated self-starter with strong interest in politics, media, and/or government
-Persuasive copywriting skills (test or samples may be required)
-Results orientation and ability to drive revenue to our company
-Ability to work closely and cooperatively with a variety of internal clients
-5-10 years of marketing experience, preferably for a paid/premium media organization or a consulting or research firm
-BS/BA in marketing or related discipline
-Strong quantitative and analytic skills with the ability to oversee the generation, scoring, and nurturing of leads and customers
-Graphic design skills preferred, including expertise with software such as InDesign, PhotoShop, and DreamWeaver.
-SalesForce proficiency strongly preferred
