FierceMarkets is seeking a full-time Sales Director to support sales efforts in our Growing Enterprise IT and Government publishing groups to work in our Washington, DC office or remotely (from home) in New York, Chicago or San Francisco.

The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of the following:

•The Enterprise IT landscape: Simply put, you must have knowledge of emerging technologies and how they will be put to use within the Enterprise and the Federal Government. You will know who the major vendors are and will have relationships on both the client and agency side.
•Digital Media: You will understand that there is more to closing a deal than securing leads and impressions. The right candidate will understand the value of premium content and will have an understanding of newer service-oriented custom publishing programs.
•A “can-do” attitude: You must have the ability and willingness to roll-up your sleeves and solve problems on behalf of your clients.
•The ability to work collaboratively across teams, ensuring that the interests of the broader company are served rather than within any single group. In summary, patience within a start-up culture.

The Sales Director will work collaboratively and strategically with the publisher to define and identify target markets and build the prospect universe. S/He will also interface across FierceMarkets departments including Traffic, Marketing, Audience, Accounting, Finance and IT.

Required Skills/Experience:
•Minimum 5 years of related work experience
•A strong sense of organization, with strict attention to detail
•Demonstrated flexibility to manage multiple tasks, solve problems and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
•Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
•Computer savvy and proficiency with a variety of software packages, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
•Thrives in a team-oriented, entrepreneurial corporate environment
•Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related discipline, with a stellar academic record
•A fierce, fun, collaborative attitude
•Legal right to work in the United States

Compensation includes: Base salary and bonuses based on performance metrics
