Automotive News TV is an award-winning shop with a big soul. And we’re looking for an aggressive, one-person band who can do it all – report, anchor, shoot, write and edit. As a member of the Automotive News TV team, you’ll be personally involved in crafting ten newscasts and several other special video projects each week. And you’ll have the opportunity to interview the biggest names and attend the glitziest events the global auto industry has to offer. We’re a hard-working group committed to journalistic excellence. Responsibilities:
•Research, write, shoot, edit and voiceover (including on-camera standups) news packages for Automotive News TV’s daily newscasts and special reports
•Serve as fill-in anchor for Automotive News TV’s daily newscasts – First Shift and AutoNews Now
•Shoot compelling, broadcast news-quality video using Panasonic P2 HD cameras and associated production equipment in the studio and field
•Edit advanced, multi-layered daily news packages, special reports and newscasts with Final Cut Pro 7 software
•Meet aggressive, daily deadlines to shoot, edit and post news packages, special reports and newscasts via the Brightcove video platform and Saxotech publishing tool on the Automotive News website
•Actively use social media – including Twitter – to cover breaking news and promote newscasts and special reports
•Assist other Automotive News TV team members in the planning and implementation of studio and field shoots, daily newscasts and special projects
•Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's Degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications or related field
•Applicants must have at least two years of professional broadcast news experience
•Knowledge of Final Cut Pro 7 software, Adobe Photoshop software and broadcast-grade electronic news gathering equipment
•Excellent oral and written communication skills; the ability to work well under pressure in a team environment; and collaborate with other departments
•Position requires multitasking, outstanding organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to carry at least 25 pounds of broadcast field gear
•Position requires the ability to travel via automobile and airplane
•Position requires working occasional mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
