If you’re the type person who geeks out over consumer lifestyle content—for whom a great day at work is shaping a lineup of stories on real estate-related or home décor/organizing topics—this may be the job for you. We’re looking for someone with serious and proven lifestyle editorial chops to work on the team charged with delivering the next iteration of a high-profile client content program. The Digital Editor will execute content development for all digital platforms (web and social). Content ranges from expert advice and how-to service to video and infographics.

The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of what successful digital content looks like (based on standard metrics) and understand the best practices of maximizing content across platforms and audiences, and will be capable of identifying opportunities for leveraging news and existing content across multiple channels.

The candidate must be willing to work in Greensboro.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, interactive media or related field.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of digital editorial experience. Lifestyle editorial experience preferred, real estate and/or home/shelter experience, a plus. Must be savvy, knowledgeable and comfortable in creating content for digital media. Experience creating content for the millennial audience is also a plus. Minimum 2 years of editorial management experience.

Skills: Passionate about language, writing and editing. Demonstrated excellence in writing, editing and display copy for the web. Ability to collaborate effectively with art, edit, development and account staff. Ability to meet demanding deadlines. Complete familiarity with content management systems, basic HTML and web design concepts. Keen eye for detail. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Social media and video experience, a must. Must be able to juggle multiple projects at a fast pace and manage many moving parts and details.

•Writing, assigning and editing original and sourced digital content – following established tone and style guidelines
•Supporting special projects, campaigns and other editorial initiatives
•Managing a digital editorial calendar, mapping planned content and providing regular status updates to the team, client and partner agencies
•Coordinating with editors, writers, clients and partner agencies to ensure that deliverables are executed on time and in line with brand standards
•Assisting with (and managing) fact-checking, proofreading, line editing, writing and CMS entry as needed, working with in-house and freelance resources
•Liaising with client and partner contacts
•Contributing story ideas and creative ideas for presenting digital content
•Assisting with administrative duties as needed
•Participating in internal team meetings as needed
•Other editorial and social media duties as assigned
