The Philanthropy Editor role will include a wide range of responsibilities including, but not limited to:
•Collecting, organizing and scheduling Media Sponsorship information, and maintaining relationships with nonprofit partners
•Fulfilling media sponsorships by scheduling appropriate editorial content and communicating needs to editorial
•Meeting production deadlines for weekly e-newsletters and the monthly print publication
•Implementing SEO best practices with site traffic and social media growth
•Identifying and writing about philanthropic best practices
•Fact-checking
•Following up with nonprofit organizations to assess impact of Media Sponsorships
•Creating social media content around Philanthropy articles
•Curating event photos and information to create compelling magazine and online content (Better Makers and their Impact; Give Time, Give Things, Give Support; gala fashions and looks, etc.)

Skills & Toolsets:
•Attention to organizational detail and social dynamics
•Competence with SEO standards and applications
•Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Google Docs, Google Analytics, Wufoo, Wordpress
•Interest in the ‘giving back’ message and amplifying good work and inspiring stories on the part of nonprofits in our community
•Eagerness to learn new skills and technologies
•Willingness to strategize the most effective delivery to best amplify the mission for non-profit organizations
•Marketing experiences to better grow Make It Better’s reputation as experts in the field
•Strong editing, writing and reporting skills

Experience & Background:
•Excellent communication skills
•Experience with marketing for the media
•Highly organized to collect, plan and track information from multiple sources simultaneously
•Ability to schedule appointments, collect information and manage rapport with nonprofit organization representatives through the production cycle
•Ability to quickly shift tasks and priorities within a deadline-driven environment
•Self-starter, adaptable and able to learn fast on your feet
•Previous internship or work experience in a similar field
