Special Sales Associate, Academic
Cambridge University Press, a leader in academic publishing, seeks a Special Sales Associate to join our Academic Sales & Marketing team. The ideal candidate will be positive and enthusiastic in his/her approach to work in a collegial environment. The Special Sales Associate will maintain existing non-traditional and business-to-business sales accounts and will develop new special sales opportunities, while also supporting the retail and wholesale accounts.Key Duties:• Develop special sales process sales that do not fall into traditional retail/wholesale channels, including but not limited to B2B, author orders, event orders, association orders and (for Bibles) sales to ministries and large churches or diocese.• Track ongoing sales and prospect for new sales; enter leads and closed business into Salesforce. • Support Sales Department: coordinate and maintain seasonal databases; help organize seasonal sales conferences; enter all invoices and claims for cooperative advertising charges into SAP.• Support Manager as needed in organizing meetings and representing him when there are meeting conflicts.Qualifications: • 1-2 years working in an office, publishing or sales environment, or internship required; 2 years of experience within an academic publishing environment preferred.• Experience with MS and Adobe programs, i.e., Word, Excel, and Filemaker.• Excellent prioritization, interpersonal, and communication skills (both oral and written) required.• Previous publishing or bookstore experiences a plus.
