Financial Assistant, Journals
Cambridge University Press, a worldwide leader in academic publishing, seeks a talented individual for the role of Financial Assistant to support our Journals department. The Financial Assistant will serve as the first point of contact regarding any finance queries, with external vendors and customers, as well as all internal departments. They will also manage the corporate AMEX account, reconcile the general ledger, and maintain all accounting files and records.Other key duties will include: •Process credit card transactions and post cash receipts•Review ledgers on a monthly basis and research all outstanding items; follow up and collect on any outstanding invoices; reconcile all accounts•Review all journal deposits on a weekly basis; Liaise with UK Finance to resolve any queries•Support idocuments, purchase order and expense system for US Journals staff•Assist in the year end society reporting process; and also in any ad-hoc reporting/special projects as needed.•Oversee the bi-weekly dispatch of US vendor cheques and remittances•Review and implement both new and existing processes and procedures to improve financial reporting.Qualifications:The ideal candidate will possess 2-3 years of experience in a similar role and have an undergraduate degree in a business related field (Accounting/Finance preferred). They will demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, possess excellent attention to detail and have a proven ability to work independently, as well as communicate effectively in a team environment.Please include both your cover letter and resume/cv.
