Behind every great rock star band is a great manager. They keep the band focused, motivated and organized. They make things happen. An AE at Sq1 is very much like a rock band manager. Your primary responsibility as a Sq1 rock star AE will be the initiation and execution of all marketing, creative, media and research projects for the brands. The AE is the client’s main contact with the agency on a day-to-day basis and is the representative within the agency for the interests of the brand. Heres what we are looking for in a rock star AE.

Requirements / Experience:
3+ years of agency or allied industry experience that provides an understanding advertising, digital optimization, media, creative, production, research, agency finance, etc.
Knowledge of digital advertising on a retail account.
Excellent presentation skills, and ability to effectively communicate with all levels
Full understanding of the principles of optimization and analytics
College education preferred and applicable advertising/marketing education or experience
What You Will Do:
Client Relationship Management

Earn and keep each client’s respect and confidence as a trusted advisor, bringing value to their business through a strong commitment to success, consistent performance and the ability to develop a wide range of ideas and solutions
Acquire in-depth knowledge of, and be conversant in, each client’s business & their key issues, competitive situation and industry trends
Clearly understand client business objectives and goals
Demonstrate confidence and authority as the day-to-day voice of the agency team
Effectively balance the dual expectations of your clients and the agency
Anticipate potential relationship or expectation issues, advising the Account Director in time for the agency to act proactively
Remain alert to new opportunities to grow the business
Provide proactive thinking and thought leadership to client
Respond quickly to client needs/demands while maintaining balance with agency needs and existing workflow
Strategic Planning and Analytics

Ensure brand and campaign KPIs are established, managed and met
Demonstrate understanding of the importance of the conversion rate as a key metric in online marketing
Identify key elements of an issue, problem or data set and be able to highlight general opportunities and implications
Clearly establish objectives and priorities for client initiatives
Monitor success metrics for all key initiatives
Be able to develop a range of options for the client and agency staff in regard to workload, scheduling, troubleshooting and support
Work with Supervisor and team to deliver actionable insights
Provide a point of view on strategic, creative and media alternatives
Team Leadership

Outline expectations of, and communicate effectively with, agency team members
Work with the assigned Project Manager to effectively assign, coordinate and monitor the work of agency staff members assigned to client projects
Develop and support a positive mindset about the work, the client and the agency staff that are involved
Encourage and demonstrate unity behind team and agency decision-making
Effectively incorporate senior staffers from conversion architecture as well as other departments as project objectives or issues warrant
Develop and demonstrate a clear, comfortable, persuasive presentation style for both formal and informal settings with client
Be well-rehearsed and prepared for the unexpected when presenting to the client
Develop thorough summary and recap documents for the client and internal agency team
Develop presentation support materials that are consistent and in line with the agency’s expectations of quality
Personal Organization and Management

Establish clear objectives and day-to-day priorities for yourself, handling multiple projects efficiently and effectively
Identify, classify, categorize and be able to retrieve information as required by you or agency team members
Prepare thorough, accurate and consistent work to clients reflective of the agency’s quality standards
Be able to adapt to workload and working conditions while maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanor
Provide clear, thorough written and verbal direction to your team
Deliver concise, accurate and actionable accounts of meetings and discussions both internally and with the client
Financial Management

Manage accurate estimates for client approval for items beyond monthly fees (creative, development, media)
Ensure billing is correct and delivered in a timely manner
Understand and adhere to agency statement of work
Provide recommendations on additional revenue opportunities on the account
