Palgrave Macmillan is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, talented Assistant Marketing Manager to join our friendly, creative and hardworking team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, and liaising with colleagues across editorial, marketing and sales departments, you will be responsible for promotion and brand-raising for Palgrave’s US professional business and finance list.

Major Responsibilities:

• Creating and implementing marketing plans for the US professional program
• Growing the Palgrave brand within professional sectors via outreach to professional associations and partnership building
• Liaising regularly with sales teams and offering support by coordinating the creation of marketing materials, including POS and catalogues.
• Undertaking market research and new product development
• Reporting & analysis of ROI on marketing activities
• Managing and maintaining the US professional budget

Required Skills / Knowledge:

• First rate communication skills and the ability to establish, develop, and maintain good working relationships within internal teams and externally with authors, customers and associates
• Effective marketing skills, including experience of planning and running a range of direct and digital campaigns, social media, advertising and events
• Outstanding organizational skills, a systematic approach to their work, excellent time management and the ability to prioritize effectively
• Ability to evaluate, adapt and work flexibly to achieve the maximum results in all areas of work

Experience Needed:

• 3 years experience in marketing
• Previous experience within publishing, or professional business/finance marketing would be desirable

Educational Background Required:

• Bachelors Degree
