Through collaboration with sales and marketing colleagues, the Email Marketing Designer will be responsible for the conceptualization, design and HTML coding of Bonnier Corp. brand and partner email campaigns. This individual will be expected to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders throughout the creative process and contribute to other digital design endeavors.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience with email marketing best practices including effective calls-to-action and content hierarchies, images-off optimization and designing for all screen sizes (mobile, webmail and desktop). This individual should know the differences among scalable, fluid and responsive designs, and be aware of the latest industry statistics and trends.

Primary Responsibilities:

Work closely with brand-side colleagues to define objectives, develop campaigns using client-provided assets, revise creative as necessary, and route designs for approval, all on while adhering to deadlines.
Working closely with email marketing colleagues to automate and standardize production when possible; hand-code HTML for custom emails when necessary.
Design original email templates and layouts for new products while working within the parameters of the brand style guide.
Execute seasonal updates of existing email templates.
Stay current on industry trends in email marketing and responsive design.


Strong graphic design, layout, typography and HTML skills.
Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver.
Knowledgeable in HTML5 / CSS3.
Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environment.
Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills.
Must know email design / development best practices.
Experience with Silverpop Engage and Litmus a plus.
Ability to collaborate and build relationships with internal stakeholders.
Ability to research design and creative solutions across markets and audiences to incorporate into creative campaigns.
Excellent time management skills for multiple projects with a range of scope.
Excellent verbal and written communication skill.
Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts or equivalent with strong design portfolio.
