A premier name in lifestyle media is looking for a Director of Content Marketing Strategy to help their editorial content reach new audiences. They’re searching for an imaginative storyteller with a gift for creating new, innovative ideas that intrigue users and elevate their brand. To land this gig, you’ll need a history of content marketing wins at a major lifestyle media brand and a passion for finding new ways to get users engaged through killer content.

Nitty Gritty
Reporting to SVP of Digital Strategy, you’ll work with a crack team of social, marketing, and content pros to refine and develop this brand’s digital marketing approach. The brand already has a well-defined voice, a massive footprint, and millions (yes, millions) of fanatically loyal followers. Your job will be to find new ways to grow audience engagement and elevate the brand through creative, never-been-done-before stories and content marketing strategies.

You’ll examine the editorial pipeline for a range of properties and find opportunities for great stories among trending topics and timely developments. You’ll also create content marketing strategies for holidays and seasonal events. You’ll develop creative briefs that capitalize on this brand’s audience and name recognition while pushing the envelope on the content marketing front. Campaign-level thinking is the name of the game here.

But this isn’t just a strategy gig. You’ll need to be able to edit and direct editors — you might even write copy from time to time.

You’re an experienced Content Marketing Strategist who understands both aspects of that title: content and marketing. You’re a great writer and editor with a killer sense for stories and content strategy. You’re also a seasoned marketer who knows how to develop content marketing campaigns that resonate with audiences. You have a gift of big ideas and can see opportunities for major content marketing wins by pushing into untapped spaces.

You have a knack for getting multiple teams to pull together to deliver exceptional content marketing executions that span web, mobile, social, email, and maybe even print. You’re passionate about understanding an audience and addressing its needs, and you can pass that enthusiasm on to those around you.

Of course, you also understand the technical end of things. Analytics drives your content marketing strategies. SEO is in your blood. You dream about audience development. And you’re definitely not happy until the numbers come in and prove your ideas right.
