Northside Media Group, publisher of The L Magazine and Brooklyn Magazine, is looking for a Social Media Editorial Fellow. The ideal candidate will be in active pursuit of an editorial career, with a social media as a focus, as well as community engagement and analytics.

Job Requirements:

-Voracious media consumption is key, as is a willingness to engage the community of creative people working in Brooklyn, from artists and musicians to chefs, shop owners and all the other people who make Brooklyn such a special place.

-Writes copy and manages day to day social media posts for all Northside Media Group properties: Brooklyn Magazine, The L Magazine, Northside Festival, Taste Talks, and Northside Creative Group.

-Reports social media traffic by implementing:
*Weekly Google Analytics, Hootesuite and Tweet Reach
*Objective Analysis (what works/what doesn’t)

-Acts as a key liaison between editorial and publishing departments to schedule social media content for all business initiatives.
-Implements SEO best practices, including keywords as per Google+ Analytics

-Creates and schedules company email newsletter, Brooklyn Briefly

-Uncovers opportunities to leverage social platforms for overall community growth: FaceBook, -Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Youtube, Vimeo and Tumblr

-Works with editors to creatively brainstorm social media content ideas.

-Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results:
*75% Social Media execution and audience growth
*25% Analysis and Reporting

Job Requirements:
-Bachelors degree in Communications or a related field and/or professional experience

-0-1 years of social media experience at a publishing business

-Understanding of Google analytics, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Youtube, Vimeo and Google Docs.

Job Details:
-Full time M - F

-A monthly stipend will be provided and the fellowship lasts for 6 months. (If we like each other and you turn out to be really good at this and lots other things fall into place, then yes, sure, there's a possibility this could become something more permanent.)
