Meredith Corporation is seeking a seeking a highly motivated front-end developer to join the Martha Stewart Living digital team. Strong creative skills, the ability to work efficiently in a team and a passion for the Web are key. We need a smart individual interested in sharpening their skills and working hard in a quick moving environment.

Essential Job Functions

40% Develop custom, dynamic user experiences using HTML5, CSS3, javascript and jQuery.

10% Work with designers to obtain and create all visual assets necessary for Web site production, and to create prototypes.

20% Work closely with back-end developers to facilitate user experience on the front-end using dynamic data.

10% Participate in development of best practices; shared, standardized code libraries; and written documentation of all systems, tools and processes.

20% Participate in agile sprint planning and contribute to strategic and tactical planning sessions.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

Bachelor (4-year) degree or equivalent

Experience: 1-2 years of hands-on, front-end Web-development experience in a professional environment

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

_ Responsive and mobile-first Web design

_ Progressive enhancement, web standards, accessibility, and usability

_ Browser and platform compatibility issues

_ Designing for Web and using semantic markup

_ Collaborating with a team and sharing ideas

_ Keeping code clean, and ensuring performance across browsers

_ Getting your hands dirty with debugging front-end code

_ Working within an agile methodology

_ Drupal and Drupal theming

_ Sass

_ Modern javascript rapid-development frameworks, especially Angular

_ node.js

_ Familiarity or experience with social network APIs (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

_ Utilization of source/version control systems, especially git and Github

_ Any other open-source technologies such as PHP, WordPress or the LAMP stack

_ Confidence on the Linux command line
