Executive Editor - Martha Stewart Weddings

Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

Works with Editor-in-Chief to oversee the Martha Stewart Weddings brand in print and digitally.

Essential Job Functions

50% Assigns and edits or top-edits content for the entire magazine; collaborates with the art and style departments to develop and produce each issue. Manages and mentors junior editors.

20% Works with digital team to develop content for marthastewartweddings.com and other brand extensions.

10% Brings editorial projects in on time and on budget.

10% Improves and increases the visibility of the brand; represents the brand in public appearances.

10% Works as the primary liaison between editorial and advertising for the magazine; represents the magazine in client meetings and industry events.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience:

At least 5 years experience as a senior editor at a consumer magazine, and demonstrated training or experience working in digital media.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent public speaking/presentation skills

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Knowledge of and demonstrated interest in digital media

Excellent collaboration skills

Creative thinker who can develop innovative cross-platform ideas
