Edible Holdings, the publishers of Edible Manhattan, Edible Brooklyn, Edible Long Island and Edible East End, seeks a new ad sales executive to inherit key accounts in Manhattan and Brooklyn. 

Compensation includes commission and draw commensurate with experience.


This is a part-time job with certain daily and weekly responsibilities. The workload intensifies around key sales deadlines throughout the year. Edible is a work-from-home organization. You will be available during most business hours but can have a flexible work schedule. Weekly calls and/or meetings with other Edible staff are required.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the sale from the initial call and closing the sale through making sure ad materials are received. We handle the billing and collections, and provide you with an online sales management system to use, regularly send you leads, and provide you with extensive ad/sponsorship selling materials.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

•Manage accounts after closing to encourage renewal and upselling, and to better understand customer needs.
•Make strong sales pitches (using Edible sales materials).
•Generate proposals and negotiate pricing.
•Close deals

•Certain small event activations

Other responsibilities and activities include:

•Daily, email check in with ad sales manager on top prospects, pipeline goals and accounts closing.
•Weekly "all sales staff" phone check in to learn about new inventory, get help closing deals and hear about collective goals.
•Attend all major Edible events (approximately 6 per year, including Good Beer, Good Spirits, etc.)


To knock this job out of the park, you would have these essential skills, knowledge and experience:
•You have 3-5 years of advertising sales experience
•You have experience and facility with Salesforce or other CRM
•You are a fearless cold-caller, rapid email sender and responder, creative campaign thinker, and other traits that make a great media sales person today.
•You have superb organizational skills and self-motivation.
•You consume web and social media content and have a strong interest in new media communications.
•You enjoy the kind of content covered in Edible: locavore food scene, farmers markets, community gardens, artisan ingredients, small-batch booze, local food policy and a really good doughnut.
