Freelance Beat Reporter
Broadcasting & Cable is seeking a freelance beat reporter to cover local television, the 85-year-old trade magazine's legacy sector. Local TV looks a lot different than it did in Ted Baxter's day - it's now a tech-fueled, multi-platform business marked by billion-dollar mergers and a race to control wireless spectrum space. On-camera moments that might have passed unnoticed years ago no go viral and populate our coverage, and when major news breaks from San Bernardino to Boston and in between, B&C gets closer to the coverage teams than anyone else. Simply put, there has never been a more interesting time to cover local broadcasting.
We're looking for a writer who is hungry and versatile, capable of long-form enterprise and quick-hit, opportunistic posts to continue our recent web traffice growth and deliver analysis for our weekly print readers. All applicants should include work samples, resume and cover letter when applying.
