As a PR Manager on the Communications team at Postmates, you will play a critical role in further developing the Postmates narrative in the 40 cities that we operate in. You’ll be given the chance to drive initiatives on the local level and work across multiple teams within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop written materials, including company messaging and statements, communications plans, press releases, blog posts, FAQs, and other collateral
  • Media relations work supporting business stories
  • Devise and execute major communications strategies and campaigns to support Postmates’ strategic objectives
  • Serve as the day-to-day point person for inbound press requests
  • Work closely with the director of communications to create and execute a wide range of major product communications initiatives to support Postmates strategic objectives
  • Build deep relationships with press, bloggers, analysts, influencers and other external stakeholders about core products and initiatives
  • Support local city launches and initiatives; develop and execute local media strategy
  • Pitch and maintain relationships with key consumer, trade, technology, and business press, both locally and nationally.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years relevant work experience at either at a PR agency or on an in-house communications team
  • Experience pitching national, regional, consumer and business publications
  • An understanding of the bigger-picture and a knack for advancing company narratives in the down-cycles between launches
  • Strong and prolific writing and editing skills
  • A passion for storytelling through multiple media types, both visual and written
  • Skills in planning, organizing, prioritizing and executing simultaneous projects and activities
  • A self-starter attitude: you instinctively and consistently create personal and professional stretch goals and meet them
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, communications, English or other relevant major required
