The Consumer Marketing Development group at Penguin Random House is seeking a Marketing Analyst to join our innovative team. This team manages corporate consumer outreach programs like PenguinRandomHouse.com and ReadBrightly.com and facilitates best-in-class consumer marketing across Penguin Random House’s publishing divisions via best practice sharing, support, training, testing, and development across analytics and marketing tools (licensed or built in-house), campaigns, ad tech, email marketing, and content marketing. The Marketing Analyst role is core to our success.

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of previous experience along with:


* Be an advanced Excel user (pivot tables, vlookup, large files, graphing, etc.) and a strong PowerPoint user

* Strong analytical, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills

* Familiarity with digital marketing activities including web analytics, email marketing, social media, and common industry metrics

* Should have experience with web analytics (Adobe Analytics/Omniture Site Catalyst preferred)

* Be able to adhere to a regular monitoring schedule

* Be curious and eager to interpret sales and web analytics data

* Be able to work both independently and collaboratively

* Be willing to speak in front of and communicate with large groups of colleagues, and an effective trainer of fellow employees, with a customer service orientation

* Be eager to learn new interfaces and tools

* Have strong time management skills

* Experience with SQL a plus

* Experience with comScore or Hitwise a plus
