SUMMARY: World Learning is actively recruiting consultants who can serve as technical writers to support the Exchange and Training Unit (ETU). Individuals should demonstrate experience developing and submitting winning proposals for cooperative agreements/grants and be familiar with the process of responding to a Notification of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) solicited by U.S. State Department, especially the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, regional bureaus, and the Secretary’s Office of Global Partnerships.

BACKGROUND: World Learning was founded in 1932 as the Experiment in International Living, a summer abroad program designed to bridge cultural divides by bringing young people together from around the world. Today, World Learning is a global not-for-profit organization with educational and international development operations in more than 60 countries. Through its Global Development and Exchange Programs, World Learning provides beneficiaries with the knowledge, skills and ability to effect positive change in their communities. ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:

The candidate should have experience developing winning technical proposals in response to DOS funding solicitations. S/he should possess a clear understanding of best practices, evidence-based designs, and innovations in the field that will lead to successful proposal designs. Knowledge of DOS trends in spending, technical direction, and overarching goals in the particular field of interest is desired. The candidate should have first-hand experience designing and writing proposals.
