Assistant Director for Donor Development
The Assistant Director for Donor Development is part of a dynamic team focused on maximizing support from individual donors and through events to support the best-in-class work of The Door, University Settlement and Broome Street Academy Charter High School. These three affiliate organizations share a common commitment to assisting the most vulnerable New Yorkers to transform their lives through innovative and effective programs. Working with the Director of Development, the CEO, and other executive staff, the Assistant Director works to create and implement a strategy to engage individuals in our organizations’ work with the goal of gaining their financial investment. The organization is seeking to develop a major donor program, and the Assistant Director will be at the forefront of implementing this signature effort. Additionally, the Assistant Director will have supervisory responsibility for the development and execution of all fundraising events.
- Raise new funds from major donors: Identify, with executive management and the boards of directors, individual prospects for major support and devise the moves management effort that will close leadership gifts.
- Create a dynamic donor engagement program: Develop the plan that will attract individual donors, galvanize their support and maintain their consistent engagement.
- Oversee special events: Oversee the development and implementation of special events that will raise funds, engage board members, and facilitate major gifts fundraising.
- Plan a program of strategic donor communications: Develop a strategic and multi-faceted communications plan annually to attract, retain and increase the support of individual donors and create a pipeline of prospective major donors.
