Vintage Books/Anchor Books at Penguin Random House is seeking a Publicist or Senior Publicist to independently execute publicity campaigns and multi-city author tours while developing and maintaining relationships with the media. Vintage/Anchor is dedicated to publishing quality nonfiction and literary fiction, and has published numerous New York Times and national bestsellers.

Specific responsibilities include:
1.            Executing all aspects of publicity campaigns for assigned titles including creating press materials, managing author tours, securing national and local media, overseeing travel arrangements, and producing events.
2.            Discovering new media outlets to build on media contacts including traditional and digital media.
3.            Developing and strengthening relationships with media, booksellers, and marketplace/industry contacts.
4.            Working closely with authors on all aspects of publicity, including briefing authors for interviews and accompanying authors to publicity engagements.
5.            Presenting Vintage/Anchor lists to broadcast, print, online media outlets, booksellers, and lecture venues.
6.            Collaborating with key in-house departments, including Marketing, Sales, Editorial, and Subsidiary Rights.
7.            Creating public awareness of the imprint.
8.            Implementing backlist publicity initiatives for major anniversaries and pitching backlist titles with relevant news hooks.

•             College degree or equivalent work experience
•             Minimum 3 years of publishing publicity experience for Publicist; 4 years for Senior Publicist
•             Excellent written and verbal communication skills
•             Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
•             Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively
•             Strong organizational skills
•             Knowledge of the media, marketplace and competition
•             Understanding of social media as a marketing tool
•             Proficient using of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
•             Knowledge of Cision, Muckrack, and Publishers Work Bench, not essential but desirable
