General Summary:

imre is looking for a Public Relations Specialist to join our growing team. The Specialist should be a marketing communications strategist with a strong breadth of media relations’ expertise. Under the supervision of the Senior Program Director of Integrated PR, the Specialist will serve as a counselor to a vast array of clients, their superiors and junior staff members.

The Specialist should be able to handle multiple projects with a high degree of confidence, independence and sound judgment, working collaboratively with our team of Creators specialists (creative, social media and digital). The ideal candidate understands contemporary communications and is savvy in developing insights-based strategies that will connect with our client’s customers.

Principle Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Works across a variety of divisions and accounts to secure top tier media relations results
    • Drives integrated PR results across all sectors
      • Has a nose for a good story and the ability to tell that story through a variety of mediums, including new media and digital communications
    • Helps the account team drive top tier media relations results
    • Works with the account team to drive media strategy to meet KPI’s of the program/annual program
  • Knows how to write, draft and develop PR plans, press releases, pitches and client emails providing a strategic POV
  • Provides counsel and strategic advice internally (and externally as needed) to clients in a array of sectors – from healthcare to CPG with durable goods, financial services and sports in between
  • Mentors junior team members to understand, adapt and develop skills to do Modern PR
  • Works closely with all Account Directors to provide overall leadership and direction in recommending short-term and long-range marketing and communications goals and objectives for assigned clients
  • Helps Account Managers lead client teams in planning and developing programs and services, which are consistent with the clients mission and strategic plan
  • Highly detail-oriented practitioner, responsible for client program management and all internal and external communications associated with those programs
  • Leads execution of innovative, technology-forward integrated communications programs across multiple industries
  • Able to work with Account Managers to understand the fiscal management of assigned client budget
    • Works with the Account Managers to be accountable for the development, management and evaluation of operating budget, and for achieving objectives while operating within budgeted expense targets

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong C2C and B2C brand experience
  • More than 3 years of PR experience
  • Knows how to drive top tier results in PR
  • Position requires exceptional oral and written communications skills and knowledge of communications techniques and typical agency procedures in order to coordinate effective campaigns and programs
  • Work requires excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a variety of internal and external audiences, to represent clients to the media and various groups, to propose marketing and communications goals and objectives, to seek out and build relationships with potential clients, to close deals and to lead and direct subordinate staff.
  • Position requires problem solving and conceptual skills to recommend approaches and methods; to plan, coordinate, and evaluate communications activities; to prepare reports and analyses; to project trends and developments in the field; and to recommend short-term and long-range goals and strategies based on such.
  • Position requires both a team player that encourages collaboration and ideation among team members, as well as, an aggressive and fearless communicator, that is willing to get their hands dirty and do whatever it takes to deliver the highest quality work on behalf of their clients.

Working Conditions:

Normal office environment, where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise, or smoke.
