What you’ll be doing...

The Senior Interaction/UI Designer will be an integral part of the Verizon Wireless Device Marketing UX Strategy & Design team. You will lead efforts to design and define the interactions and interfaces that will engage our customers and transform unmet user needs and business opportunities into successful product and service launches. You will work to create a best in class customer experience for Verizon’s Device’s including OS UX design and review, customer journey maps, web-based product and service activation experiences, mobile companion apps, and operations review presentations. The ideal candidate has a passion for user centered design and has a wide breadth of experience across multiple types of products, channels and design methodologies.

Candidates must have a high level of experience in user interface / user experience design, web, mobile and device product development. This will include business analysis and requirements gathering and documentation from all business stakeholders and internal/external clients, wireframing, prototyping, and coordination of project development. Candidate must possess and amazing level of attention to detail is a must. Someone who knows best practices, can document them, and insure all UI/UX design follows those detailed specifications.

Responsibilities:

    Apply strategic thinking to design and deliver innovative end-to-end user experiences that optimize among user needs, business goals, and technological realities across web & mobile platformsTake ideas and concepts, and visualize them in such that they are communicated effectively and compellingly for internal leaders, partners and customersConnect the dots between business requirements, innovation, analytics, and good design through visual representation of ideasTurn visions into concepts and translate those concepts into designs that illustrate simplicity, despite complexity of the system, service or infrastructureDirectly responsible for delivering User Experience visions, UI specifications, wireframes and prototypesCollaborate effectively with researchers, product management, development, marketing, and other team membersUse facilitative leadership skills to drive to the best outcome for stakeholders, resulting in others learning from you, and inspiring others to want to work with youBe an expert in the emerging industry UI trends, across web, mobile and tablet platforms, competitors and strategies, and shares this information with the teamRespond to day-to-day questions from UX designers, technology teams, vendors, developers & product managersDocuments ongoing progress, code migrations and status on work assignments and communicates these updates during status meetingsExperience in writing detailed design specifications (IA, work flow, page functionality and layout, etc.), which technology developers use to build the product Work both collaboratively and independently while maintaining a high level of productivityAssist in QA to identify, document, and verify design bug fixes

What we’re looking for...

Must have:

    Bachelor’s degree or six or more years of work experience.Six or more years of relevant work experience.Interface design experience.Online portfolio available for viewing.Ideally, you’ll also have:

    Bachelor's Degree in Design (Graphic, Interaction, Visual, and Digital), Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Information architecture, Marketing, or related UX field 5+ years of interface design experience in delivering high-volume, high-profile or award-winning web sites or mobile products or devices.Strong knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centered design processes while working collaboratively with colleagues, along with cross-functional teams including technology, product management, and user research.Proficient in a variety of methods to convey ideas and concepts (e.g. customer journeys, storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, product feature matrices, etc)Proven track record in setting a vision for great customer experiences, inspiring others to get behind the vision, and ultimately delivering products and services that are known for their delightful experience and ease of useEffective communicator, presenter, and negotiatorOrganized, self-directed, efficient and able to manage multiple and complex projects in a timely mannerExpertise with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, (Sketch), Dreamweaver, InVision, but skilled in creating 'lo-fi' prototypes to share with users in a fast, iterative mannerFamiliarity with web and mobile technologies and their impact on the feasibility of design solutionsStrong knowledge of Android OS, Android Wear, and iOS platforms.A passion for creating products that resonate on an emotional levelUnderstands the product and software development life cycle.
