Senior Content Manager
We are seeking a talented, digital journalist to serve as Senior Content Manager and oversee the day-to-day editorial operations of ASME’s digital media properties. This key member of the ASME.org editorial team will be responsible for assigning, editing and developing all forms of original content for the site. This role will manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring production and publishing schedules are met. This individual coordinates the efforts of freelance writers as well as cross-functional teams and is also charged with the dissemination of content across ASME’s social, web channels and other platforms.
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (engineering or science preferred) or additional equivalent work experience. A graduate degree in journalism or related field is a plus. We also require a minimum of 7 years’ experience in technical journalism, including editing, proofreading and feature article writing. Successful candidates will present other important qualifications such as:
- advanced feature writing, language and communications skills
- exceptional relationship and project management capability
- expertise in SEO best practices and comprehensive knowledge of digital technology
- understanding and applied knowledge of site analytics
- demonstrated knowledge of science and its practical application as a technology
- social media-savvy and awareness of emerging trends, tools and platforms
