Job Description:

The ideal SEM Specialist candidate is passionate about digital media, specifically search engine marketing. He/she is a self-starter, go-getter, and willing to learn on the job, as well as proactively share knowledge with team members. The person fulfilling this position requires the ability to work under pressure while having multiple responsibilities and tight deadlines. Staying up-to-date in the latest SEM technologies, techniques, trends and best practices is fundamental.  Attention to detail is mission critical.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Minimum of 3-years of experience working in the search space
  • Strategically build, manage, and optimize search engine marketing campaigns   
  • Analyze campaign performance and make statistically stable/relevant optimizations & recommendations
  • Closely monitor search performance and spend levels
  • Report performance data and supply analysis to improve performance
  • Lend insight into the optimization of client landing pages
  • Build out and manage media orders per client approved flowchart
  • Reconcile orders and update flowchart accordingly
  • Coordinate with account specific AE’s on flowchart updates and media pacing
  • Perform market research, trend and competitive analysis, as well as provide views on emerging technologies & marketing opportunities
  • Analyze online data using various analytical tools to uncover trends as well as provide insight that will maximize search marketing efforts
  • Manage and grow Direct Response campaigns, optimizing to goal Cost Per Action / Conversion volume
  • Use statistically stable/relevant data to make optimizations and client recommendations
  • Forecast budgets, campaign size and conduct keyword research
  • Utilize bid-management platform (Marin Software) to run campaigns
  • Provide support for other areas of marketing as needed
  • Manage client relationships and educate clients on the search marketplace 
  • Attain Google AdWords Certification if not already on resume
  • Build out accounts from the ground up, tightly organizing campaigns and ad groups by keyword relevancy 



Skills and Characteristics:

  • Strong analytic skills, including high level of experience with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Intelligent, outgoing individual with interpersonal skills and solid work ethic
  • Excellent business writing, training, communication, highly organizational and strong presentation skills
  • Detail oriented, responsive to deadlines, able to juggle many tasks at once
  • Knowledge of accounting software Advantage preferred but not required
  • Excellent phone skills
  • A get-it-done-attitude and an ability to overcome roadblocks
  • Comfortable with deadlines and an ability to drive a task to completion consistently
  • Highly resourceful – able to locate documents and information with little to now direction
  • Close attention to detail
  • Proactively seek feedback on your work to take it to the next level  
  • “Self-starter” with ongoing interest and study of SEM industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies

  • Working understanding of digital media outside of search
