Assistant Marketing Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for you to share your marketing expertise and work with some of our most high-profile clients.  The Assistant Marketing Manager will be responsible for the marketing strategy and hands-on execution for a blended portfolio of research journals, many published on behalf of leading associations, within the Health Sciences Marketing Team.  Interested applicants should have at least three years’ experience creating and implementing marketing plans at the product and/or community level and a demonstrated ability in marketing strategy, digital marketing, and relationship management.

 

Who we are looking for: 

You will bring your digital marketing expertise to this role to drive readership, attract authors, and ensure brand affinity.   Identify and deploy direct marketing strategies including single-touch and multi-touch content marketing campaigns. Leverage social media channels and understand best practices, plan and execute high-impact conferences and workshops, and create marketing materials in close collaboration with your association clients. You will call on your experience with marketing analytics to track and analyze ROI of campaigns and have the knowledge to know when to course correct and shift strategy.

 

This position requires at least 2-3  years of marketing experience and preference will be given to candidates with a background in account management. To succeed in this position, you should be creative and flexible in your approach and as comfortable planning and working independently as you are working in a global team with multiple stakeholders. You are a highly-organized multi-tasker and a strong communicator in both written and verbal communications and presentations.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3  years professional experience in marketing
  • Demonstration of managing client expectations and working with external stakeholders
  • Ability to plan a campaign within budget, from conceptualization to implementation
  • Self-starter, change agent, comfortable working independently as well as in teams
  • Product and/or Community Marketing experience
  • A hands-on leader; broadly shares responsibility and accountability of both routine and important tasks and decisions 
  • Strong attention to details, project management skills, ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize in a complex business environment 
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to turn findings into executable plans 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to senior management. Well prepared to address questions/pushback; unflappable 
  • Customer-obsessed; takes into account the impact on customers with every business decision 
  • Strong Knowledge and understanding of systems and processes which support the marketing function
  • Experience in social media marketing and paid advertising across social channels.
  • Interest in medical and health disciplines a plus.
  • Confidence in your marketing decisions and educating non-marketers in the thought process behind the marketing strategy.
  • Social and emotional maturity
