                   New York Athletic Club - Social Media Manager/Assistant Editor

The Social Media Manager/Assistant Editor is responsible for the maintenance and development of all NYAC social media platforms, while also working in a supportive role with the Director of Communications and Associate Director of Communications on all elements of New York Athletic Club communications, both print and digital. NYAC social media platforms are: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest and YouTube.

The Social Media Manager/Assistant Editor position requires:

- extensive experience in developing social media platforms and posting content

- excellent written and spoken communications skills

- experience in editing in both a print and digital format

- experience with using Google analytics and other reporting tools

- extensive experience with using Quark Xpress or InDesign, plus Photoshop

- in-depth knowledge of the sport of the summer Olympic Games

The Communications Department is a small, fast-paced office dealing with every detail of NYAC communications.

The Social Media Manager/Assistant Editor works in a highly collaborative and supportive role with the Director of Communications and Associate Director of Communications and other members of office staff, while also engaging extensively with most other departments in the Club. As such, the Social Media Manager/Assistant Editor must possess the ability to multi-task while paying attention to the smallest details, prioritizing and staying focused on cast-iron deadlines.

The position of Social Media Manager/Assistant Editor calls for an individual who can work within a team; take direction; who is highly detail-oriented; who possesses exemplary communications skills; who can engage with NYAC members and staff at every level; who displays initiative and motivation; and who personifies the standards of excellence for which the NYAC is renowned. A passion for and in-depth knowledge of the sports of the summer Olympic Games is required.
