Digital Marketing Copyeditor & Metadata Writer
Do you know what metadata means? Do you feel equally comfortable writing copy as you do cleaning it up to meet brand, style and AP specs? Then we're looking for you!
Foot-in-the-door opportunity for full-time contractor at major television network. Looking for reliable self-starter with at least 3-5 years' experience editing and proofreading copy and writing metadata in digital marketing environment. Position entails becoming the subject matter expert for 3-7 current television series; creating all metadata and SEO for these shows per current strategic specs; proofreading and copyediting all copy for extremely busy digital marketing team. This is not a creative position; must have proven copyediting experience; must be able to work on site in our Los Angeles office 40 hours/week.
Desired characteristics include:
> Passion for TV and its digital extensions
> Experience writing metadata, SEO, keywording
> Ability to craft tight, compelling, error-free copy under deadline pressure
> Excellent knowledge of AP Style, American English spelling, grammar, punctuation and usage
> Experience in writing Direct-to-Consumer copy, emails, digital newsletters
> Editorial photo experience, including selection, curation and optimization of images
> Brand voice management
> Demonstrated ability to engage consumers in storytelling through marketing
> Experience publishing with CMS, working with digital project management systems
> Friendly, funny, outside-the-box thinking; creative problem-solving
