The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard and its sister brands are seeking a motivated and resourceful individual to join the Sales department as a Business Development Coordinator.  This is an entry level position for individuals interested in learning the ad sales business and who have an insatiable interest in entertainment and music industries.  Ideally, you will be an enthusiastic team player with excellent computer and internet research skills.  The position will handle researching leads based on the editorial calendars and special issues for our various brands/publications.  This position will research and mine and qualified leads for the sales department; monitor entertainment and music to drive new sales opportunities; and assist in creating sales collateral.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Research and maintain sales leads generating pipeline around special issues for all brands
  • Outreach to external contacts to verify and qualify leads
  • Assists with tracking anniversaries and industry related events for special issues pipeline
  • Collaborate with Marketing department to initiate, create and disseminate print and digital sales collateral for sales team
  • Participates in the brainstorming process of new editorial franchises to unlock new advertising
  • Attend weekly sales meeting  

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken)
  • Strong computer/internet research and Excel skills
  • Extremely organized with an eye for details
  • Some understanding of the entertainment and music industries from business and consumer standpoint
  • Great interpersonal skills with an ability to work as a team player with all levels of the organization and external clients
  • Self-motivated and resourceful with an ability to use good judgment in anticipating needs for Sales department
  • Minimum 1 year experience in corporate entertainment environment or talent agency with research responsibilities.
