I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
The Social Media Manager will grow the brand across multi-platforms through timely, compelling and unique postings that reflects the FOX12 brand both on-air and online. The position is an integral role that will work closely with the Digital Content Manager as well as station management.

II. Essential Job Functions

50% Develop social media strategy to grow FOX 12 brand across social media. Implement strategies to increase FOX 12's social media presence and use all its platforms to drive traffic and raise brand awareness of Prepare and execute social media strategies, objectives, and tactics and produce necessary art and copy. Execute strategy daily on all of FOX 12's social channels and platforms.
10% Identify "real time" social media content opportunities and executions (i.e.: trending topics and live video streams), as well as threats and pauses as needed.
20% Ensures all social media communications are on-brand, consistent in terms of creativity, style, quality and tone of voice.
10% Establishes workflows for requesting, creating, editing, and publishing social media content and communications.
10% Utilize analytics to monitor performance based on data and adjust approach as necessary.


III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
4 year degree in Journalism, Communications, Promotions, Marketing or related field
2 to 5 years of experience growing a news brand across social media
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Understanding of and experience with paid social media strategies and their execution
Must possess superior knowledge of existing platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, as well as emerging platforms.
Extremely strong writing skills and news judgment with ability to create engaging posts that drive readership on the social web.
Natural ability to predict viral and social trends and to articulate insights on performance and overall goals
Strong knowledge of YouTube and video content for all social media platforms
Ability to mentor young staffers on social media best practices
