MTVU, MTV's Emmy Award-winning on-campus college channel, is looking for an enthusiastic, highly-organized individual to manage a network of student content creators. The Special Projects Manager will work with the MTVU programming team to: identify college content creators, work with the creators to identify original video concepts, manage each creator's production timeline and workflow, and ensure content creators deliver original video assignments on a regular schedule for all MTVU platforms. The Special Projects Manager will also oversee additional short-term projects as assigned by the MTVU programming team. Responsibilities:

  • Manage students in MTVU’s content creator network to ensure production workflows are maintained
  • Work closely with student content creators to advise in all creative and production requirements
  • Maintain project deadlines from pitch to delivery
  • Manage multiple individual projects simultaneously
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
  • Research and provide new student content creators as required
  • Brainstorm and pitch ideas to MTVU programming team as needed

  • Effectively communicate and develop positive and productive relationships with student content creators
  • Highly-organized with attention to detail
  • Adhere to strict programming deadlines
  • Logistical and creative background in video production
  • Basic knowledge of collegiate lifestyle, pop-culture, news and social issues
  • Work successfully as an individual and within a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking methods regarding solutions
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, TV or related field.
