Deputy Editor,

Job Type: Full-time

The deputy editor will report to the chief content officer and digital director and be responsible for running the day-to-day editorial operations at

Duties Include:

- Assign freelance stories to a roster of freelancers, and manage the editorial freelance budget

- Manage the editorial calendar for the site

- Write stories and top edit posts, articles, and freelance assignments 

- Identify stories that will resonate with the demographic

- Manage the digital editorial team and delegate story assignments and production work

- Analyze metrics and data to devise an editorial strategy for the site 

- Oversee social media strategy

- Collaborate with print editors to ensure the voice of the brand is reflected online

- Collaborate with the video team to develop video content strategies 

Skills Required:

- At least five years of digital media and journalism experience with a track record of strong leadership and increased responsibility

- Experience managing a team of writers and producers

- Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time

- Ability to motivate staff to reach goals; ability to mentor staff 

- Superior attention to detail

- Experience working in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are strict

- Experience with CMS (WordPress) preferable

- Strong knowledge of brand and subject material a bonus
