Initiate and lead Telemundo Connecticut’s community outreach efforts . Directs, develops and coordinates NBC Connecticut’s relations with local communities in the DMA. Coordinates and executes strategies and programs to achieve positive and productive relations between NBC Connecticut and the community.
This is a unique role that gives candidates the opportunity to help shape Telemundo Connecticut’s brand. Candidates should be a strong writer, producer and community manager. The Community Manager is responsible for the execution of station events and external partnerships that benefit Connecticut’s communities, local businesses and Telemundo Connecticut.
Participates in community activities and civic programs as a station representative. Participates in professional meetings and conferences. Represents the station at community forums, activities and events.
Build partnerships with non-profits to collaborate on community events as the media partner.
Represent the station on division press calls and write local press releases.
Participate on team and station projects, as well as special sales and community events.
Minimum one year of work experience in Production, Creative Services, Marketing or Public Relations
Bilingual skills – Spanish/English
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Must have the ability to work any of a 24 x 7 shift. Should be able to work flexible hours (including weekends) for client or station events
Must be willing to work at the location in West Hartford, CT
Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
Must be 18 years or older.
Must have a valid driver’s license.

Cultural understanding of Connecticut’s Hispanic community.
Minimum 3 years of work experience in Production, Creative Services, Marketing or Public Relations
4-5 years at a local television station in community or promotion.

NBCUniversal is launching a new Telemundo-owned station in Hartford, Connecticut. The station will be co-located with NBC Connecticut / WVIT and both stations will serve local Spanish- and English-speaking viewers in the Hartford market. In addition, the new station will debut Telemundo Boston’s newly rebranded weekday newscast “Noticiero Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra” in December. Noticiero Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra will be produced by Telemundo Boston and include reports from Hartford and Boston-based reporters, and will deliver 10 hours of live, local breaking news and information each week to Spanish-speaking viewers in Hartford and Boston.
