Oversee development of merchandise strategy and work in partnership with licensee / partner and internal product development team, and Creative Design and Development team to create a cohesive point of view, on brand designs and excellent execution of final products.
The Merchandise Director is responsible for leading merchandise efforts Direct on live entertainment initiatives around NBCUniversal IP including Fast & Furious Jurassic World, Trolls American Ninja Warrior , Despicable Me, and others under the DreamWorks, Illumination and Universal umbrella.. Role is instrumental in partnering with licensees to develop overall merchandise strategies with creative executions that compliment live entertainment offerings while driving licensing revenues.
Lead merchandise development meetings for all live entertainment
Partner with licensees to create merchandise presentations/kiosks that are on brand and enhance the customer experience
Lead all activities with licensees and internally to drive merchandise revenues associated with each live entertainment initiatives, delivering royalty revenues to budget
Oversee budget development for all merchandise initiatives
Secure partner companies to provide merchandise services for retail entertainment initiatives incorporating a mix of licensed and exclusive merchandise
Review all product submissions provide input in coordination with PD team
Partner with live entertainment directors and Creative leads to ensure that merchandise is in line with overall strategy and creative for each touring execution.
Partner with business leads on all entertainment to ensure that any legal requirements are met – Creative Design and Development and Product Development teams also highly aware of any specific legal requirements.
Ensure licensees meet all Universal social compliance requirements
Goals to create excellent extension of live entertainment experience creating “I was there” merchandise that becomes a memory
8+ Years of Live Entertainment Merchandise Experience
3 Years Minimum managerial experience
Ability to multi task and deliver on multiple projects, meet tight deadlines and be decisive under pressure.
Excellent understanding of brand and property positioning, licensing and partner management
Exceptional influencing skills
Excellent relationship skills
