Job Purpose
Reporting to the Director, Promotions & Partnerships, the Associate is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of multi-platform, consumer-and/or-industry-facing Promotions and Partnerships for various NBC shows and special programs.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assisting in the development and execution of the Promotions and Partnership strategy and plan year-round for shows and the network operating within the annual department budget
  • Promotions are not limited to but include managing annual network presence at tent-pole conventions/events (ex: Comic-Con, VidCon, Pride parades), custom show Promotions outside of conventions (ex: multi-market screenings, stunts), and grassroots/regional promotions for targeted audiences (LGBTQ, college/university, etc.)
  • Support in developing and managing Partnerships with relevant brands and sales partners, in-show partners, non-profits, complementary entertainment and digital properties, other NBC Universal Comcast brands, etc.
  • Responsible for internal promotions-related special projects (ex: NBC’s photo booth in Universal Theme Parks, branded merchandise/premiums, internal company events and premiums)
  • Draft and manage Promotions-driven RFP process among external agencies, brands and vendors in support of Promotions’ portfolio of events
  • Collaborate with internal marketing and publicity teams to ensure Promotions are multi-platform and/or include amplification layers (Brand Marketing, Media, Digital, Social, Affiliate, Publicity, Sales, Custom Content, On Air, Product Marketing, Symphony, etc.)
  • Collaborate with NBC Brand Marketing team to understand individual show positioning, marketing strategies, target audiences and goals to ensure Promotions ideas are on-brand and goal-oriented
  • Develop presentations for senior management that represent all stages of Promotions programs (current ideation, strategy and anticipated reach/impact; post-event recap, metrics and ROI)
  • Assisting in the oversight of hired experiential/production/promotional agencies, project freelancers and related vendors on various projects
  • Manage operational and logistical portions of all Promotions programs (staffing, budgets, contracts, legal, insurance, invoices, travel and other production-related elements)
  • Help traffic all creative and production-related materials as relevant to Promotions programs within NBC Creative (Print & Digital), Photo, and Production teams
  • Source, route, and distribute branded collateral, premiums and creative assets
  • Close collaboration with Publicity and Talent Relations on talent participation as it relates to promoting NBC series
  • Extensive internal collaboration with various departments to ensure Promotions and Partnerships concepts are successful and properly amplified/supported
  • Deliver communication to key internal and external stakeholders and peers on status of Promotions & Partnership plans

    On-Going:
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and meetings around shows, campaigns and contribute relevant promotional concepts & partner suggestions
  • Route contracts/agreements, legal documents and invoices in a timely and organized matter
  • Organize and maintain Promotions & Partnerships data, documents and any/all associated files on internal servers
  • Monitor competitive landscape marketing, promotional trends and consumer behaviors, and apply insight toward ideation. Seek cutting-edge promotional practices, new technologies and innovative brands and strategies to ensure Promotions remain competitive and impactful.
  • Vet external agencies thoroughly for RFPs, ideation, Promotions support and execution, etc.


  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1-2 years Promotions experience, preferably at a broadcast and/or cable brand, other entertainment company and/or agency
  • Knowledge of Promotions and entertainment marketing, including: experiential, marketing strategy, digital, social, publicity, etc.
  • Proven record of assisting in the development and execution of successful, fully-integrated Promotions with significant market and consumer impact
  • Experience and exposure compiling project budgets, tracking costs and invoices, vendor communication regarding financial and legal elements, etc.
  • Creative instinct and ability to manage various creative elements associated with fully-integrated Promotions and Partnerships; ability to bridge ideation and design concepts to actual production and execution tactics
  • Awareness and/or contacts with a range of partners including: entertainment brands, non-profits, tradeshow event/convention partners, promotional and media agencies, production companies, premiums/merch companies

    Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience in ideating/developing Promotional events and programs for target audiences (e.g. multi-cultural, LGBTQ, college/universities, etc.)
  • Experience & exposure to event management and production for consumer and industry-facing programs
  • Experience in deck compilation (Keynote, PPT) for internal and external Promotional program reports both in development, in progress and in post-event recap phase
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Acute attention to detail and well-organized
  • Clear, concise, objective and professional written and verbal communicator
  • Working knowledge of marketing and creative assets, terminology and standard practices
  • Creative and strategic planner with clear ideation and execution abilities

  • Familiarity with consumer research and behaviors, ratings and other forms of relevant entertainment evaluations
  • High degree of computer proficiency on MAC and PC and with creative, presentation and project management programs; Microsoft Office and Keynote proficient
