Nature Neuroscience seeks an Associate or Senior Editor to join the editorial team in New York or London. Nature Neuroscience
is a multidisciplinary journal that publishes high-quality papers in all areas of neuroscience and provides a highly visible forum for communicating important advances to a broad readership. Members of the editorial team participate in all aspects of the editorial process including manuscript selection, managing the peer review process, and commissioning and editing News & Views and Reviews articles. Nature Neuroscience
editors also organize and attend conferences, visit laboratories, and maintain close contact with the international scientific community.
The successful candidate for this challenging and stimulating role will have:
· A broad interest in science
· Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, and the ability to critically evaluate research submitted to the journal covering a broad range of topics in neuroscience.
· He/she will be fluent in spoken and written English, with an eagerness to learn new areas of research and engage with the scientific community.
· Applicants must have a Ph.D. in neuroscience
The journal welcomes submissions in molecular, cellular, systems and cognitive neuroscience, as well as psychophysics, computational modeling and diseases of the nervous system. No area is excluded from consideration; although priority is given to research that provide fundamental insights into the functioning of the nervous system.
Candidates with a strong research record in any area of neuroscience covered by the journal are encouraged to apply.
The position will be based in the Springer Nature offices in New York or London.
