The Senior Vice President, Sales, NBCU Content Studio will oversee the sales team responsible for selling original/custom branded content programs with distribution across all NBCU media assets with a keen focus on digital distribution of video content. As a sales pioneer with a creative mindset, the SVP will articulate and implement both a long-term vision and short-term execution strategies for the team as they work with advertising agencies and clients to create unique and relevant custom content solutions that monetize our unique properties and premium audience.
The SVP will partner with The NBCU Content Studio team to drive NBCU’s original branded content business forward, including identifying growth initiatives, creating new original content revenue products for specific clients and key categories, and deepening NBCU’s value proposition to all potential clients. He/she will collaborate with the content development, distribution/audience development, and integrated marketing teams to execute on this vision.
The SVP and his/her team will focus on attracting new clients and client categories to NBCU; he/she will also work closely with NBCU’s existing linear and digital teams to showcase our capabilities to our existing client base. In addition to his/her monetization responsibilities, the SVP will be a brand ambassador and must be passionate about creating unique solutions that enhance NBCU’s reputation in the marketplace.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Monitoring the performance of the team and ensuring that it performs to its potential by providing team members with the feedback and help they need to identify potential clients and categories and devise effective sales tactics to convert them into regular and consistent clients
Building robust and scalable SOP’s for all aspects of the sales process
Participating in client meetings and taking direct responsibility for key clients
Fostering collaborative relationships with peer set across all NBCU Sales verticals in order to drive revenue growth and connectivity
Partnering with The Content Studio business leaders to shape revenue-generating custom ideas and hone operational best practices
Developing and delivering compelling sales narratives across multiple channels
Determining sales and client needs and providing real-time marketplace intelligence to ensure the NBCU business leads the market through innovative products/offerings
Driving new packaging models to ignite new revenue streams, and launching key category ideas
Partnering with The NBCU Content Studio integrated marketing team on the key tenants of messaging, pitching, marketing materials, and presentations
Working with senior management on next-level growth strategies, forecasting and goal-setting, and high-level agency relations
Being the face of NBCU custom content offering at industry events
At least 3 years’ experience managing a content-driven sales team that has enjoyed strong monetization growth, and 5+ years of solution-oriented sales experience
Proven track record of developing creative advertising and native/branded content solutions for major brands across a variety of consumer categories
Experience selling new digital platforms or products to clients
Strong CMO-level client direct and senior-level agency relationships
Experience working in a large, matrixed organization
Experience managing budgets
Experience working with editorial, custom content, technology, and project management teams
Deep understanding of audience acquisition channels (social, email, etc.)
Deep understanding of video, both in a strategic and production sense
Passion for creating award-winning creative advertising products
Ability to be build strong connections across multiple teams
Strong organizational skills
Compelling communicator with proven ability to work across departments to get things done
