Production Artist, Publishing
Loyola Press, a Catholic publisher in Chicago, is seeking a full-time, onsite Production Artist to build and produce print and digital curriculum products.
The candidate will work on the production stages of product development, from the pouring and styling of manuscript through the release of files. He/she will have substantial experience in using InDesign templates to layout, style, and build pages and will implement copy and visual changes as requested by designers and editors. The Production Artist must be fluent in Adobe Creative Suite applications through CC2017 and also demonstrate complete understanding of print production, appropriate file setup, and digital file delivery and preflight.
The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of production experience creating print and digital products with a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field. The Production Artist must have the ability to apply best practices for production processes in the publishing industry while also demonstrating a passion for efficiency, accuracy, and attention to detail. Familiarity with Ignatian Spirituality and the Catholic and public school marketplace are a plus. The ability to build InDesign templates and proficiency in Spanish are also a plus.
