Role overview:

In the role of Community Manager, you’ll act as the face and voice of our brands and manage community communications across a variety of channels.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary responsibilities include: organic promotion, strategic planning, creative development, trafficking, optimization, reporting and analysis

  • Administer cross platform content publishing (images, video, and written) through organic and paid efforts
  • Create, implement, and manage a detailed publishing schedule in line with our content strategy
  • Help expand our distribution both within existing platforms (fan growth) as well as through exploring growth opportunities in new platforms.
  • Continually test and evaluate new strategies, tactics, and partnership opportunities in an effort to evolve and improve our product offering
  • Aid in the design, create and manage promotions and social ad campaigns
  • Analyze key metrics and optimize distribution strategy as needed
  • Daily reporting and analysis of distributed content (awareness, engagement, conversions)
  • General development of brand awareness, our community, and influencer outreach efforts in new and creative ways
  • SEO (search engine optimization) and generation of inbound traffic
  • Working primarily with Growth & Distribution teams along with serving as a cross functional member of Editorial, Production, and Product teams
  • Identify and improve organizational development aspects that would improve content work flow

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Identify key influencers and partnerships relative to our clients content. Target those influencers through social media mentions and/or direct contact (FB direct messaging, email, phone, etc.)
  • Serve as the definitive expert in the social media distribution space by diligently following new platform launches, existing platform updates, and general best practices

Qualifications include:

  • 1-3 years of experience as a Community Manager (or equivalent position) at an advertising agency, media company, innovative news or e-commerce organization (think Buzzfeed, Refinery 29, Taste Made, PowerGear, Wirecutter, Mashable, CNet, Vice Media)
  • BA in Journalism (or related field)
