This role will apply a logical, systematic approach to problem solving using mathematical and statistical techniques to identify insights and make recommendations that will inform and measure media, advertising and business strategies.

General Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Product Management, Operations, and Sales to learn their data needs, evaluate, and support building out reporting solutions

Provide decision makers with quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting of patterns, insights, and trends that will inform media and data strategies

Fulfill custom requests for data which cannot be accessed through the suite of business intelligence tools available to analysts

Keep abreast of new and current data science/big data approaches and digital advertising trends

Build a comprehensive understanding of the advertising technology domain

Mine campaign data to produce insights that inform buying optimization strategies across multiple advertising media channels

Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders and support the build of recommendations based on analysis conducted

Trouble-shoot issues which reside in first-party and third-party datasets and support ad-hoc requests from the users and business and turn the requests around in a timely manner

Facilitate data merging and transformation in preparation for analysis by planning the process and either executing directly or training business units to implement directly

Partner with senior colleagues to further embed data science and analytics across the organization

  • Completing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with preferred majors in data science/analytics, mathematics, engineering or other related technical discipline
  • Experience working in the digital media and/or telecommunications space, such as advertising agency, broadcast television, broadband, or digital service providers
  • Comfortable manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume data from varying sources
  • Strong communication skills – can communication complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner to both technical and non-technical groups
  • Solution oriented – has business skills to understand problems and build algorithms necessary to find the right answers
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment, both autonomously and on a team
  • Has a strong passion for data and research, and for answering hard questions with data
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office technology such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and SQL and data visualization platforms (Tableau, etc)
  • Knowledge of online interactive metrics such as Omniture, DoubleClick, Comscore, or related digital platform tools
