Position Overview:
Reporting to the Editor-In-Chief, the Senior Video Producer/Editor will help develop and execute a multi-platform video and audio strategy focused on growing SNY’s audience. The Senior Video Producer Editor oversees a full-time and freelance staff of producer/editors that write, shoot, produce and edit short form and long form video/audio/visual content for SNY.tv and SNY’s social media channels. The Senior Video Producer/Editor will partner with the Editor-In-Chief to define and refine SNY’s tone and voice across all platforms, ensuring that the network provides users with the most relevant, timely and engaging New York sports content possible.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist Editor-In-Chief with editorial calendar by working with insiders, video and social team and to develop story ideas.
  • Manage the scheduling of full-time and freelance Video Producers/Editors.
  • Proactively propose original, timely and innovative stories covering New York sports
  • Produce video, images and GIFs for use across SNY.tv and social media platforms.
  • Create, write, shoot and edit short- and long-form content assets that can be leveraged across multiple platforms.
  • Optimize linear content to be published on SNY.tv and social platforms.
  • Build audience engagement with an understanding of data and analytics, identifying and monitoring trends.
  • Oversee podcast production.
  • Design and create graphics for SNY.tv and social platforms content with fast turnaround time.
  • Brainstorm with others for topical content that fits within the brand.


  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience producing digital, social, and multiplatform content, including 3 years’ managerial experience.
  • Creative self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passionate sports fan with broad knowledge of the sports industry and New York market.
  • Strong editorial judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work across departments and on teams effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work long hours and on weekends with short notice
