Job Purpose: This logistics associate producer position is a part of the MSNBC Weekend team.

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for logistical planning for day of, next day and future events
  • Generate daily grids of correspondents’ assignments and coverage planning
  • Book trucks and crews for live remotes; communicate to NBC Net Desk who we are sending
  • Support coordinating producer and weekend leadership team in managing daily assignments and supporting correspondents
  • Monitor live events, stakeouts and TV interviews for newsworthy soundbites
  • Transcribe newsworthy soundbites
  • Spot and flag new headlines other media organizations are reporting
  • Fill in and assist with segment producing duties on shows as needed; writing copy and producing elements for live broadcast

  • Basic Qualifications:
    • Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college
    • Must have at least 2 years of experience in live television, preferably cable news
    • Experience writing scripts at the network or cable level
    • Prior booking experience is preferred

    • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news. Schedules can rotate, but must be able to travel and work all shifts, including weekends and overnights. Must be able to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift with little or no notice, if needed

    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required
    • Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure and meet multiple daily deadlines
    • Prior experience on network or local assignment desks
