Role Summary
The Analyst, Insights & Measurement, NBC Sports & Olympics, will demonstrate a passion for sports media and video content (linear and digital) business. The Analyst must possess a strong interest in media analytics, will work on cross media campaigns: linear/digital measurement, primary research via NBC Sports fan panel, and the ability to successfully communicate insights in visually compelling formats.
  • Support Senior Manager and VP in the creation of detailed analyses, reports, presentations, and marketing/sales materials covering NBCU’s Sports properties – on NBC (Sunday Night Football, NHL, French Open, Triple Crown, Notre Dame football, PGA TOUR), NBC Sports Network (NHL, Olympic trials, Premier League, Tour de France IndyCar, college sports including football, basketball, and ice hockey), and Golf Channel (PGA TOUR, Open Championship, Ryder Cup, President’s Cup, LPGA).
  • Utilize both syndicated and custom research tools to effectively position various NBC Sports properties and develop ROI analysis, communicate the value of NBC Sports ad environment
  • Analyze competitive spending patterns in real-time and provide input on target accounts
  • Create proof of performance presentations based on campaign results
  • Assist on cross media measurement and regular reporting for sports properties
  • Support cross-network positioning for sales, marketing, and communications departments
  • Collaborate with Senior Analysts, Manager, and Director to drive research goals
  • Key clients: Sales, Marketing, Pricing & Planning, Sales Operations

    Basic Qualifications
    • Four year degree (B.A., B.S.) from an accredited college or university, preferably in Marketing, Economics/Finance, Media, Statistics
    • Recent college graduate to 2 years of experience, preferably media research, with media company, agency, research supplier, or sports organization
    • Strong analytical background and experience managing large datasets
    • Knowledge of Media Math and Digital KPIs
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, particularly in Excel formatting, charts, macros and pivot tables

    • Knowledge of Nielsen systems (Nielsen National TV, NPower, TV Brand Effect, Arianna, @Plan and AdViews) as well as GfKMRI, Simmons and IAG, Prior experience with Lake 5 is a plus.
    • Knowledge of Adobe Analytics, ComScore, and Millward Brown Digital
    • Understanding of quantitative research methodologies, survey design and analysis
    • Feel comfortable communicating both verbally and in writing to all levels within the organization
    • Candidates must be proactive thinkers who can handle multiple projects at once. Must be able to meet tight deadlines
