The American Physiological Society (APS), a non-profit scientific member society, is seeking a Marketing Specialist responsible for collaborating with the Director of Marketing and Communications in the development and implementation of the marketing and promotional strategy for various APS programs, products and services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Creating and executing the development for various APS departments’ promotional projects
  • Implementing cross-promotional efforts and promotional strategies as well as monitoring relevant metrics, tracking campaigns and reporting on related initiatives
  • Planning and implementing the promotion of the APS meeting and conference programs
  • Communicating with the APS Meetings department and vendors to create meeting promotional materials including online ads, email campaigns, brochures, flyers and ads
  • Implementing the publications marketing initiatives and providing support to the individual editors
  • Developing and executing campaigns for 15 publications including the APS member newsletter

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Expert reporting and analytical skills
  • Expert organizational and time management skills
  • Expert communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop and AMS/Personify database
  • Knowledge of life sciences
  • Knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and proofreading/editing
