Your Edge for Success YES LLC is looking for you! We need a part-time, work-from-home writer and a part-time, work-from-home editor to join our award-winning resume-writing team as a result of expected explosive growth beginning next month. An eight-year-old, woman-owned company, YES provides comprehensive, personalized services to help make people's dreams come true. Expected workload will depend on demand, writer/editor rating, and writer/editor availability. You must be available for at least 13 hours a week. You may certainly have more work if you desire and work is available.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES--WRITER

  • Work with clients via Internet or phone to come up with additional quantified accomplishments and other details to include on resume (after they have filled out an extensive form).
  • With training, draft resumes (both regular and federal), cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles for assigned clients in all career fields.
  • Follow YES templates and instructions precisely.
  • Identify and incorporate keywords from job listings for which they will apply.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES--EDITOR

  • Verify that the writers have met the standards required of them and if not, send the drafts back to them for correction.
  • Edit resume, cover letter, and LinkedIn profile drafts written by YES’s trained resume writers.
  • You may at times also write resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn profiles. In this case, you will work with clients via Internet to come up with additional quantified accomplishments and other details to include on resume (after they have filled out an extensive form). You will then draft documents for assigned clients in all career fields, incorporating keywords from job listings for which they will apply.
  • Follow YES templates and instructions precisely.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Stellar editing and/or writing skills
  • (Editor only) At least one year of full-time equivalent experience as an editor with final review responsibilities before going to print or sending deliverables to clients
  • (Writer only) At least one year of full-time equivalent experience as a professional non-fiction writer
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to follow directions
  • Professional interpersonal communication skills and coachability
  • Team player mentality
  • Top organizational skills and reliability
  • Strong knowledge and possession of MS Word
  • Willingness to commit to working with us for at least one year

PLUSES

  • Experienced in crafting resumes and cover letters that get interviews
  • Understanding of Washington-area employment sectors (government contracting, IT, federal government, PR, lobbying, associations, etc.)
