Climate Advisers, a growing mission-driven climate consulting firm, and its non-profit affiliate, Climate Advisers Trust, are seeking an experienced Financial Journalist/Editor to lead our outreach to finance sector professionals on the important nexus between investors and climate action. The ideal candidate will have some combination of experience drawing from financial journalism, climate advocacy and coalition management. Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience writing about the soft commodity sector.

Role and Responsibilities
Transform existing and expanding Climate Advisers-related content into commercial subscription model.
Lead Climate Advisers’ influential global communications with the finance sector reporting on a variety of topics at the intersection of capital markets and sustainability in a climate constrained world.
Manage finance-related newsletter and related activities, including assisting in drafting content and finance-related materials.
Provide management support for Climate Advisers’ capital markets team and their engagement with institutional investors, coordinating content from staff members and standardizing all Climate Advisers’ content to meet capital markets communication standards.
Manage multiple Climate Advisers’ affiliated brands to achieve global recognition through multi-media communications supported by dispassionate, credible, financial analysis of topics related to the transition to a low carbon economy. Focus areas include: agricultural commodity supply chains, the land and forest sector, energy markets, aviation, shipping, and the built environment.
Coordinate with peer civil society and coalition organizations to manage our shared outreach to the finance sector.
Exercise sound judgment on what moves markets and why, track market innovations and be prepared to communicate on them.
Establish and maintain close contact with financial news media outlets, bankers, traders, investors, and civil society.
Serve as liaison with web designers, media representatives, customer relationship management vendors and other software providers, and stay abreast of communications software developments.
The Finance Communications Director reports to the Managing Director overseeing communications, and will work closely with the Director of our capital markets team.
Previous entrepreneurial role in media developing commercial models for media content.
Extremely strong reporting, editorial, and financial writing ability.
Ability to absorb and synthesize large amounts of information and data very quickly.
Proven track record as a financial reporter.

Education and Experience
8-10 years experience in financial journalism.
Graduate degree preferred, Bachelors degree required.
Experience / education in global capital markets required.
Must be willing to be located in Washington, D.C.
