A non-partisan, non-profit organization, Intelligence Squared U.S. addresses a fundamental problem in America: the extreme polarization of our nation and our politics. An award-winning live event, national radio show, television show, podcast and thriving digital brand, Intelligence Squared U.S. seeks an entrepreneurial VP of Growth, Development and Partnerships to drive development across a portfolio of digital platforms, event partnerships, corporate sponsors, foundations, and high net-worth individuals.

The VP of Growth, Development and Partnerships is charged with inspiring people and organizations to support our work, from individual donors to sponsors and content partners.  This individual owns the business development process from start to finish, managing, cultivating, and stewarding donor relationships; developing and activating sponsorships; initiating and managing new partnerships to sustain an ambitious growth plan for the organization; and helping with strategic revenue development across digital platforms.

As the head of our development and partnerships team, this individual must have a strong orientation for outcomes, build relationships quickly and have a passion for bringing people (both online and offline) into our work and expanding our mission.  This position will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Programming to support the vision, goals, and strategy to develop key debate partnerships, and increase and diversify our individual giving program in addition to corporate and institutional support.

We are seeking a goal-oriented, charismatic individual who enjoys meeting and rallying key stakeholders around the IQ2US mission and working in a start-up environment. This individual must have an insatiable appetite for news, media, public affairs, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity on both sides of the political spectrum.

    innovative, integrated proposals

  • Drive new monetization opportunities for platforms including podcasts, videos, and other media
  • Develop compelling pitches (including verbal presentations, PowerPoint decks, and one-pagers) to present to potential foundations, partnerships, and sponsors
  • Provide data-driven portfolio updates to the team and pivot based on results
  • Oversee the annual giving campaign and own every phase of the process:
    prospecting, donor cultivation, and retention
  • Implement new fundraising strategies and oversee grant application processes
  • Own the partnership contracting phase and the administrative functions of the partnership activation process
