Social Media Manager

Galvanized Media—home of Eat This, Not That! and Best Life—is looking for an experienced and creative Social Media Director to manage and create the content for social channels in the health, fitness and nutrition space. This person would work directly with Galvanized founder and best-selling author David Zinczenko and craft content that builds a community around these life-changing products!
The ideal candidate is fluent in Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat, but also know how to leverage emerging networks to lead customers to take action.
- Write and edit compelling social copy to support our books and personalities
- Create timely, social-first content based on nutrition trends and food topics, including cutting-edge GIFS, videos, memes, and graphics
- Develop creative strategy—both paid and organic—across all platforms to grow social reach, engagement, and referral traffic
- Test optimal posting schedule, content formats, and frequency of posts
- Pitch story ideas to editors and collaborate with editorial to create overall the social content calendar
- Track competitive landscape and identify new social media trends and opportunities within the nutrition/health space
- Grow the brand’s audience to meet KPIs
- Create weekly social reports for the staff that highlights top-performing posts, successful content formats, and analysis
- Capture the voice of the product or personality while also protecting their integrity
- Identify trends across key platforms and provide regular social audience insights to the branded content vertical editors
- Demonstrate ability to translate marketing insights into actionable opportunities
- Demonstrate ability to understand business objectives, as well as assign the appropriate corresponding KPI
Note: Candidate should have familiarity with social media ad products and have the ability to offer recommendations for ad planning and execution
- 2-3 years of experience in social media
- Proven track record of growing and maintaining social audiences
- A demonstrated ability to write creative, shareable social copy and headlines that make people click
- Excellent editorial judgment, attention to detail, and an aptitude for thinking big-picture and cross-platform
