WWD: West Coast Account Director

Often referred to as “the fashion bible,” WWD provides a balance of timely, credible business news and key fashion trends to a dedicated readership of retailers, designers, manufacturers, marketers, financiers, Wall Street analysts, international moguls, media executives, ad agencies, socialites, and trend-makers. WWD’s parent company, Penske Media Corporation (PMC), is a leading digital media company, publishing, and information Services Company founded in 2003.

WWD is seeking a West Coast Account Director with a minimum of 3-5 years of media selling experience to sell digital, social, print, and events into its b2b and b2c properties.  This is a home office based position with light travel expectations to LA and NYC

The ideal candidate will have in–depth knowledge of digital sales, excellent communication skills, will be a creative thinker, self-motivated, and energetic seller who is confident and comfortable calling on all levels at both the client and the agency.   

  • Tech category experience a plus
  • Ability to call on all stakeholders, including client, agency, PR and create productive, long-term relationships  
  • Approach clients with solution based sales strategies
  • Ability to grow business and develop new revenue opportunities
  • Perform well in a competitive sales environment.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong negotiation skills
  • Must be flexible and move quickly when opportunities strike
  • Prepare proposals via the RFP process
  • Maintain constant contact with client before, during, and after the sale to establish and positively manage the business relationship
  • Creative thinker who approaches business from a client solutions perspective
  • PowerPoint, Excel, Salesforce experience a plus
