POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a creative and highly motivated Associate Producer/Show Booker who will assist in shaping the editorial direction of the new show America with Eric Bolling. This role will be pivotal in accessing engaging, compelling, knowledgeable, top-tier guests to provide commentary on various political issues (e.g. foreign affairs, national security) within tight deadlines. Must have a high interest in politics, current events, and cultural stories that generate buzz on social media. The role requires someone who is positive, determined, and able to adapt to breaking news. The successful candidate will be a team player with strong communication skills who works well under pressure. This role is required to be hands on at every step, from conception through pre-production and into post-production. An established network of political contacts and studio control room experience is a must.

This position will report to the Executive Producer.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research, identify, and book high-profile guests and arrange transportation
  • Develop relationships with top-tier talent and guests
  • Establish and maintain contacts, develop sources, make appropriate newsgathering calls, and secure interviews and access of the highest level
  • Conduct research and compile well-rounded pre-interviews
  • Work with a small show team on story planning, pitch process, and feature segments
  • Pitch, research, write, and produce unique and interesting stories that our viewers will relate to for day-of and future segments
  • Assist in executing show rundowns
  • Coordinate script and storyline with correct video sources and graphics
  • Plan future events and story coverage
  • Ensure clear project communication
  • Manage multiple on-going projects
  • Managing daily deadline turnarounds of a live show
  • Develop effective content and manage the delivery and approval of all creative assets 
  • Participate in content strategy sessions and identification of long-term growth
  • Secure appropriate rights and clearances for video usage
  • Research and secure shooting locations
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3 years of video production experience in television (news and politics)
  • High interest in politics and current events
  • Network of political contacts
  • Willingness to be in contact with guests outside of regular business hours
  • Must be able to drive the look and feel of show including working with graphics, music, SOTs, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to bring a creative concept to reality from start to finish
  • Experience working directly with talent and hosts
  • Prior experience working at a television network with expertise in the television production process, network structure, departmental responsibilities, and how all entities work in concert to meet business objectives
  • Professional scriptwriting skills with demonstrated mastery of technique, direction, dialogue, cue sheets, creative treatments, summaries, outlines, and pitches
  • Ability to actively problem-solve, make quick responsible decisions, and handle the full responsibility of a high-profile production while facing tight deadlines and multiple unexpected challenges
  • Desire to pursue excellence in a fast-paced high pressure environment
  • Experience in the post-production process including logging footage, giving editors direction, and ensuring a flawless final cut is produced
  • Must be focused on delivering great work, no matter how big or small the project 
  • Willing to work long hours, weekends and holidays

SKILLS

  • Experience in MS Office suite 
  • Excellent project management and organization abilities, including the ability to formulate a plan and execute it in a structured fashion 
  • Strong production skills in all phases of production
  • High organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects at a time
  • Do-anything attitude and drive for excellence
  • Grace under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and written skills
  • Prompt, positive, and responsible with great attention to detail

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree with focus in TV, film, or video production or equivalent work experience preferred.
